Moral principles are subjective principles that uphold the value of life and are considerate of the dual existence of oneself and others. Truth, freedom, kindness, and other lofty moral ideals all have something in common. When they work well, they either safeguard or improve everyone’s quality of life. Therefore, it is crucial for everyone to uphold moral principles.
In light of this, in accordance with the goals of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, we developed the Values of Life series for grades 1-5. Keeping in mind the requirements, we have incorporated a perfect blend of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which encompass economic, social and environment dimensions. This series strives to implement the key recommendations of the 21st Century Skills (4 C’s)-communication, creativity, critical thinking and collaboration. By concentrating on the techniques to enhance them so as to have a better voice in any topic pertaining to a student’s life, this series aims to relate life skills and values as key aspects in defining a student’s growth.
This series contains both true and fictional stories. Each story contains a moral. This series contains a variety of activities designed to improve a variety of skills such as self-awareness, critical thinking, creative thinking, effective communication, coping with emotion and stress, and so on.
The goals of introducing this format are to empower learners’ affective domains so that they can develop a sense of self-confidence, sensitivity to the environment, and a positive attitude toward life. Schools should make every effort to create an environment conducive to the holistic development of students and the development of emotional intelligence.
We are confident that these books will assist students in developing appropriate attitudes and values that will benefit their overall development.
